Here is the mystery photo from last week, and as Linda, Julie, and Sierra guessed -- it is a crab, but not a hermit crab. Good job!
This big crab could pinch really hard, just ask Randy! I'd hate to see how hard a REALLY big crab could pinch -- might take a finger or thumb off!

asparagus plant? I have no idea.
Looks like a farmer's nightmare to me. Some kind of insect eggs/larvae/cacoons feeding on their crop.
