The Little Red Hen

There once was a Little Red Hen who, being the doting mother hen that she was, decided to take her clutch of chicks to the big town to visit the wonderful playland of McNuggetville. (insert ironical laughter). Because of course, the playland of McNuggetville was far superior (and warmer) to the windy back yard that the chicks were used to roaming. And she thought, for all Hens think a lot, every good chick needs a little s'prise now and again, right? Little did the Little Red Hen know how much of a s'prise it was going to be. (insert maniacal cackle)

So the Little Red Hen and her clutch of chicks loaded up in the Triple B (big black burban) and headed to the big town. Baby Nona, the littlest baby chick, laughed and talked at the Baby Noah playing on the overhead DVD while her brother chicks cheered her on. (insert question: what in the world did the Little Red Hen do before DVD players in vehicles? Oh yes, I remember ........ screaming and crying and moaning..... from the Little Red Hen.) Finally, the destination of McNuggetville was on the horizon and the chicks squirmed in their little seats with anticipation and spun daydreams of the fabled playland. Upon entering the golden arches, the Little Red Hen spent her egg-money on the obligatory ice-cream cones: the fee one must pay to play within the McNuggetville playland (insert explanation: for this Little Red Hen was not about to spend good egg-money on Giddy Chickie Meals).

Cones in hand, the clutch of chicks ran to the playland with glee, and dripping cones soon forgotten, were playing to their little hearts content. The Little Red Hen fluffed her feathers and pulled out her cell-phone to call a dear friend. (insert explanation: for the Mother Hen hardly ever got to use her cell phone since she lived in a hole with no cell-phone reception). About 60 seconds later, there came a tap-tap-tap on the Little Red Hen's wing feathers. What??? (to the dear friend -- Just a sec) "Es'cuse me Ma'am, but your son is peeing his pants." WHAT????? It was then that the Little Red Hen accidentally laid an egg (insert explanation: you know, hens do that sometimes....)

I'm sure that the Little Red Hen turned just a little redder with mortification. Afterall, the college age chickie was just standing there looking at her like she was some sort of freakish hen because her son (insert explanation: her almost 4 year-old, long ago potty trained, hadn't peed his pants in over a year son) was sitting with a puddle of pee at his feet. And the Little Red Hen thought, because all Hens think a lot, "Just you wait college-age chickie..... your turn will come. One day, you will be trying so hard to be the perfect Mother Hen and even with your best efforts, some days will just turn upside down in a matter of seconds. Just you wait." It was then that the Little Red Hen smelled a particularly pungent smell emanating from the general area of the littlest chick. (insert ironical, maniacal cackle)

The End.

(PS -- Dear Friend, I'm going to miss you too much for words)

(PPS -- Thanks G&G for letting me take pictures of their clutch of chicks)

OK so this is totally hilarious and I can picture the whole thing in my mind for I was once one of those Little Red Hens only I had two chicks and not four and my tap, tap, tap was from an older man and his explanation was not pee, but cherry pits! (you know what I mean)
