This past weekend.... we didn't go anywhere but to church and the river
.... it was amazing to be home all weekend.
But last weekend....
.... it was amazing to be home all weekend.
But last weekend....
We saw many swallow tails.... they seemed to be following the river downstream. There were hundreds of them, but they were quick and nimble and hard to net....
they seemed to be racing somewhere.... but where?
No time to stop and eat or rest (or be photographed!)
Some were yellow and black, and some were white and black.
The kids spent many hours playing in the small pools near the campsite....... and many hours fishing (but more on that later this week).
These were in bloom(I don't know what their name is!!!)
But they were so beautiful with the sun filtering through.
We drove a few miles downriver for a sandy beach to swim at....the beach near the campground was mostly rocks and boulders.

The white flower looks like a white lilac. They grow wild in the hills here in Oregon.
Your photos are as always, wonderful.
Ooooooh eye candy!!!
I've only been to Coeur d’Alene, but I loved it. I spent an entire day eating and playing there. So much fun!
What lovely images, Wendy! The closeup of the swallowtail is amazing!! And I love the grasses reflecting in the calm waters near the rocks ... how peaceful is that picture? Your family trip looks like a fabulous one! Lots of wilderness beauty to appreciate by all!
Very pretty mosaic. I am hosting a Giveaway on my blog and would love for you to stop by!!
fun times!!! if i were to guess, i think the white tree/flower thing is called ocean spray. i "grandma sat" for a lady who was into identifying plants and this looks like one we saw out on a walk.
(wikipedia also calls it creambush or ironwood.) not sure if these links will work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodiscus_discolor; http://green.kingcounty.gov/gonative/Plant.aspx?Act=view&PlantID=24;
